The Collaboration


Both organizations have a shared goal of improving the consistency of cardiac care by providing hospitals a standard approach for the treatment of STEMI patients. September of 2011 both organizations launched program to offer Mission: Lifeline accreditation. Combining the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline® Accreditation with SCPC's Chest Pain Center Accreditation assists hospitals in improving patient outcomes and provides a comprehensive approach to treat patients with acute coronary syndromes, including STEMI.



How can SCPC's Chest Pain Center Accreditation Help Your Facility Meet the Goals of AHA's Mission:Lifeline®


Becoming an accredited chest pain center will ensure that facilities continue to improve many of the clinical processes identified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under their Value-based Purchasing program.

Combining the Mission:Lifeline® Accreditation with SCPC's Accreditation, further assists in improving patient outcomes and satisfaction by providing a comprehensive approach to treating all patients with acute coronary syndromes including those at risk for its development.

The Society and AHA mutually agree that providing cardiac accreditation programs is in the best interest of patients, meets the needs of the healthcare community, and will help to significantly reduce cardiac deaths.

Formerly known as the Society of Chest Pain Centers, the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care will focus on facility accreditation and certification for Chest Pain Centers, Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS), Heart Failure (HF), and Atrial Fibrillation (A-fib). In addition, SCPC will provide certification for Chest Pain Center Coordinators, nurses, administrators and Chief Financial Officers looking to be compliant with CMS guidelines for Quality, Cost and Customer Satisfaction.
