Society of Chest Pain Centers Performance Measures for Chest Pain
SCPC supports quality chest pain center care and promotes the interests of chest pain centers.
Striving for this mission, SCPC has supported the development and implementation of evidence-based measures to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of the evaluation and management of patients with chest pain or chest pain equivalent symptoms.
SCPC endorses quality measures that have been nationally recognized and defined in the "Manual of National Specifications of Hospital Quality Measures."
The SCPC Chest Pain Metrics Specifications is available to view in pdf format and is printable from your web browser. These specifications are reviewed and updated, as appropriate at least annually. The set of performance metrics required for Chest Pain Center Accreditation is detailed in the Facility Information Booklet Data Dictionary. These measures were last harmonized with the SCPC Chest Pain Metrics Specifications before the start of Cycle III Accreditation in 2008. They will be harmonized before Cycle IV begins in 2012.
