Society of Chest Pain Centers Recommendations for the Evaluation and Management of the Observation Stay Acute Heart Failure Patient
A Report from the Society of Chest Pain Centers Acute Heart Failure Committee
The Society of Chest Pain Centers is proud to announce the publication of the first ever set of recommendations for the evaluation and management of the observation stay acute heart failure patient. These recommendations are intended to assist health care providers in their practice and to provide guidance in clinical decision making. The recommendations compile best practice standards for the diagnosis, risk stratification, treatment, discharge instructions, and patient education of the observation stay acute heart failure patient presenting to the ED. These best practice recommendations were established by Society of Chest Pain Centers as the requisite foundation for the Society to provide acute heart failure accreditation, similar to our chest pain center accreditation. SCPC acute heart failure accreditation will be available to facilities soon.
