Conference Goal

The goal of our annual conference is to provide up-to-the-minute education and knowledge in health care transformation and in the disease management of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), heart failure (HF), atrial fibrillation (A-fib), and observation medicine, along with current trends and optimal approaches to the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. The content and quality of this conference attracts an increasing number of cardiovascular healthcare professionals and executives who are interested in providing quality care and positive clinical outcomes for their cardiac patients.


Not only will participants enjoy networking with their colleagues, they will gain a mastery of the latest technology and protocols related to the treatment of the cardiac patient from nationally recognized experts. Participants will be able to apply the latest advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and practice management necessary for optimal treatment of a broad spectrum of cardiac disease.

Learning Objectives

  • Review updates in biomarkers and clinical applications in the acute setting for the diagnosis of ACS.
  • Discuss recent clinical guidelines, late breaking trials, research, new treatment therapies, and recent scientific advancements in ACS, A-fib, and HF.
  • Describe current evidence-based medicine for emergency observation, assessment and treatment.
  • Identify and discuss current controversies, advantages and disadvantages involved in providing therapeutic interventions to HF patients.
  • Discuss initial evaluation and management of patients who present with symptoms related to atrial fibrillation.
  • Discuss current controversies, advantages and disadvantages involved in post-cardiac arrest care
  • Discuss Transitions of Care from Bundled Reimbursement through the ED and the hospitalist, to the new CMS Rules for Discharge Planning
  • Learn about Women's Issues in ACS.
  • Discuss the Nuts and Bolts of Setting up and Implementing Mission: Lifeline.
  • Understand how ACTION Registry-GWTG can assist your facility.
  • Discuss the post-cardiac arrest care.
  • Learn about Atrial Fibrillation disease management.
  • Discuss coding and billing for Observation Services.
