Congress of Chest Pain Centers is the premier educational forum for coronary healthcare professionals.

Advances in technology have transformed the way coronary disease is assessed, treated and managed. Participants will be able to apply the latest advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and practice management necessary for Chest Pain patients. A variety of teaching methods will be used to include: lectures, case presentations, evidence-based medicine, debates, and panel discussions covering the following of the latest clinical findings. Goals of the Tenth Congress of Chest Pain Centers:

The Chest Pain Center Model is an operational process for the care of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients. It begins when a patient activates EMS , continues through patient discharge, and encompasses the entire facility. The Chest Pain Center integrates a cross-departmental team working toward one common goal - to effectively and efficiently improve processes to assess, diagnosis, treat ACS and acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) patients.

The Tenth Congress of Chest Pain Centers offers up-to-the-minute, practical education in coronary disease management to all Emergency Medicine and Cardiol ogy physicians and nurses, EMS, and other interested healthcare professionals. The diagnosis and treatment of ACS and ADHF have undergone monumental changes over the past few years. Advances in technology have transformed the way coronary disease is assessed, treated and managed. How do these advances relate to your current clinical practice? This conference is designed to cover ED processes as they relate to the Chest Pain Center model for ACS care; review and update attendees on current ACC/AHA STEMI/NSTEMI/UA guidelines and identify strategies for the management of ACS patients and observation of ADHF patients in the ED.

Not only will participants enjoy networking with their colleagues, they will gain a mastery of the latest ACS and Heart Failure cutting-edge technology and protocols from nationally recognized experts. Participants will come away with knowledge of the latest advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and practice management of chest pain patients.

CME - PHYSICIANS

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) and the Society of Chest Pain Centers. UMMS is accredited by ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

UMMS designates this continuing medical education activity for a maximum of 16 credit hours in Category 1 toward the Physicians Recognition Award of the American Medical Association.

CONTACT HOURS - Nurses

Nursing contact hours have been applied for.  This program is co-provided with the University of Massachusetts Medical School and the Department of Nursing at UMass Memorial Medical Center an approved provider of Continuing Nursing Education by the Massachusetts Association
