These Society sponsored educational programs are designed to assist facilities in their preparation for a Chest Pain Center accreditation review. They are not required, but are very strongly recommended . Facilities that participate in accreditation education tend to have less difficulty with the application process, spend less time preparing for the review and have fewer returned applications.
Participants will lea rn the criteria for review, the review process, and what qualifies a facility for accreditation. There are three educational formats: Online Education, Open Call-in Forums, and Regional Workshops. Registration is limited and available positions are filled on a first come, first served basis.
-
Online Educational Format- Because this format is internet based, it is the most accessible and economical method of obtaining information related to meeting the intent of each Key Element. The online education course can be accessed at any time and as often as desired. Purchase of an accreditation manual is required to participate in the online education sessions. The online course fee is included in the purchase of an accreditation manual. The online education video running time is approximately 2.5 hours. Viewing the entire video is strongly recommended, as it will increase your accreditation success and reduce your preparation time. Process Improvement methodology is not covered. You may start and stop the video, rewind, fast forward and return as often as you like. This online format has replaced the monthly Tele-workshops.
-
Call-in Forums Format- Talk directly with some of our Accreditation Review Specialists about Cycle II accreditation via teleconference on June 26 and Sept. 25, 2008 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM EDT. As part of the Society's collaborative philosophy, our Accreditation Review Specialists are happy to act as a resource for those of you who are interested in obtaining information on Accreditation. They will be able to provide educational materials and examples, as well as provide contacts at other facilities who have gone through the accreditation process and are willing to share their experiences and resource materials. To participate call 1 - 888 - 632-5950 on either June 26 or Sept. 25, 2008 from 1:00 - 2:30 PM EDT. State that you are participating in the Accreditation. The forum is FREE and is open to anyone.
- Regional Workshop Format – Regional workshops are conducted in various locations throughout the country. Participants will receive an accreditation manual, CD, course slides and other related materials. These workshops are fee-based and are scheduled periodically. Pre-registration is required.
