Accreditation

Testimonials

“As the EMS representative I am very pleased with the relationship that this process has fostered between Menorah staff and Med-ACT. I appreciate the in depth questioning of the EMS crew during the site visit.”

Johnson County EMS in Overland Park, Kansas

“What a positive and wonderful experience the Chest Pain Accreditation Survey was for Cary Hospital. Dr. Desai, our cardiologist, found me this morning to be sure we pursue Heart Failure Accreditation. Thank you for helping us be better healthcare professionals and making  a difference for patients.”

Christine Cooper, RN, CEN
Director, Emergency Services
WakeMed Cary Hospital

“Fantastic process!   It is exciting to see how attaining Chest Pain Accreditation status has impacted the lives of so many in our community.  The elements make sure we are improving our patient care standards and the ultimate goal - saving lives!”

Tina Ammanniti, R.T. (R) (ARRT)
Area Director of Cardiac & Pulmonary Services
Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky OH

“This was a great experience for us.  Even though it required hard work & effort, the guidance was so helpful & the teamwork was awesome.  It was one of the most positive performance improvement initiatives I have worked on!”

Carolyn Burger, RN BS
Clinical Performance Coordinator
Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph MI

“It was another great day with you guys! I love what the SCPC does for our facility.  The SCPC process (you) provides us with great recommendations (that are attainable) and consistently drives us to set the bar higher each time.  It is a GREAT process!  If you follow it your facility will do great.”

Kristan Lambert, Regional EMS Coordinator
HCA/Lafayette Market

“I mentioned in my work with LifeNet I help hospitals in different states building their LifeNet System to streamline their STEMI process.  And one question I always ask them is, ‘Are you an accredited CPC and if not are you going to pursue it?’  I recommend it to everyone working on their STEMI program because it makes them look at every part of their process.”

Kristan Lambert, Regional EMS Coordinator
HCA/Lafayette Market

"I have been a part of two Society of Chest Pain Centers’ accreditation processes.  The first was for Christus Cabrini Hospital of Alexandria and the most recent being Rapides Medical Center of Alexandria.

I have enjoyed both of those for a couple of reasons.  The first one is the high emphasis that is put on EMS involvement.  The process really puts the vital role EMS has in ACS care in a positive light.  I completely agree that in order to accomplish the desired results with ACS care it starts with the initial response.  Your team’s approach to the whole ‘team effort’ has me excited about working harder on our role in the process.  The second reason I have enjoyed the process is the consistency in your message.  Your teams do what they say they are going to do.  You practice what you preach and you believe in it.  The process is informative, education and pleasant.  The impression I leave with is that you all come here to help us (EMS, hospital, community), achieve our goals, and improve processes, teamwork and patient experiences and outcomes.
It’s a win/win for us.  We get better at what we do through your suggestions and guidance, and the community reaps the benefits of better ACS care!  Thanks.”

Paul Fuselier, Community Relations Supervisor
Acadian Ambulance Service
EMS Rep for Rapides Regional Medical Center and Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria LA

“We at Saint Francis Hospital find the Chest Pain Center accreditation extremely precise. The criticism was very valid and constructive and certainly we were able to use it to improve our process. When an organization is faced with any accreditation process, the environment becomes chaotic. We were glad that the Society's site surveyors were relaxed and with their expertise and our expertise, this chaotic process became very harmonic. ”

Shahriar Dadkhah, MD
Director of Cardiology Research
Saint Francis Hospital

“There has been no true standardization and in some instances the ‘Chest Pain Center’ is unfortunately a sign at the door used as an advertising tool. The fact that the society has provided standardization, will benefit the majority who seriously want to positively impact management of heart attack patients with their Chest Pain Center to save lives, improve patient outcomes, and establish an overall community strategy for cardiac care.”

Ahmed El Ghamry Sabe, MD
Executive Director, Cardiovascular Center
Mercy Medical Center

“From my perceptive, the accreditation was very, very meaningful. We have committed ourselves to having a world-class cardiovascular program and a major component of that is meeting a nationally established set of criteria. It demonstrates to the physicians in our program, that the board is willing to go to what ever lengths is necessary to support that effort. It demonstrates to the community that our commitment and dedication is there and that they will get the best care possible.”

Thomas E. Cecconi
President and CEO
Mercy Medical Center

“I know firsthand how this program (accreditation) affects patient care delivery. Because of the impact on patient outcomes, specifically mortality, we estimate that 48 patients per year have survived that would have died at our facility just 2 years earlier. We have held this outcome. That did not happen by accident.”

Carol L. Joseph, RN, BHA
Director Clinical Decision Support
Genesys Regional Medical Center

“We'd like to thank you again for an outstanding site visit experience.  Our associates' feedback was so positive about their interactions with you!  Several of the nurses and techs commented that it was a great learning experience and so “comfortable” to have dialogue in such a “collegial and non-threatening way” during a survey process.  We've already engaged associates in discussions about some of the great suggestions you provided (the STEMI Drawer in the Pyxis, the groin clip prep in the ED, EMS integration with more detailed follow-up and learning experiences...)   This is precisely why Chest Pain Center Accreditation is of such value to us!  It keeps us stimulated in our performance improvement processes and heightens our passion for evidence-based, best practices!”

Dianne Foster, RN, BSN
Director, Emergency Services
Carondelet St. Mary's Hospital

“Our team found the preparation and survey of great benefit to our organization. The preparation allowed us to examine and benchmark our processes to the latest “evidence based” best practices. Without the Society of Chest Pain Centers resources, it would have been extremely difficult to bring together all the “pieces” necessary to establish a quality Chest Pain program. Also, the process allowed us to bring together groups that do not always work as a team. Now we enjoy working as a focused unit on providing quality Chest Pain care to our patients. The feedback we received from the on-site surveyor's was of great benefit and it was a pleasure to receive recommendations in an atmosphere that was consultative. We truly benefited from the process and know that our patients will benefit as well. We look forward to our continuing affiliation with the Society of Chest Pain Centers and will share our positive experience with other Cleveland Clinic hospitals.”

Daniel W. Sutton, RCP, MPA
Regional Director, Cardiopulmonary Services
Cleveland Clinic, East Market
