Wayne Friestad, MD is Emergency Department Chairman, Florida Hospital, Orlando. Dr. Friestad received his medical degree from Loma Linda University and completed his residency in family practice at Hinsdale Hospital in Illinois. Since residency, he has held attending and leadership positions at Hinsdale Hospital, Hadley Hospital, Leland Memorial Hospital, Prince George's Medical Center, Washington Adventist Hospital, and Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. He joined FEP in 1995 since he has served as ED Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Florida Hospital Kissimmee, Florida Hospital Apopka, Florida Hospital Orlando and was elected as ED Chairman in 2001. He is board certified by both the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Academy of Family Practice. Wayne resides in Apopka with his wife and four children.
