Lee Garvey, MD is a founding member of the Society of Chest Pain Centers and has been a member of the board of trustees since 1999. Dr. Garvey is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He is the Medical Director, Chest Pain Evaluation Center and Clinical Research Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dr. Garvey serves on the Coordinating Committee of the National Heart Attack Alert Program of National Institutes of Health's National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and is the official liaison between the committee and SCPC.
Dr. Garvey serves on the following advisory panels: CRUSADE Nationwide Quality Improvement Initiative, Emergency Medicine Cardiac Research and Education Group (EMCREG - International), Chestpainonline.org Associate Editor, and GUSTO IV Emergency Medicine Advisory Board.
